99% of people who got polio had minor symptoms and recovered quickly. 1% got really sick.
After the vaccine, they changed the definition of having polio from 24 hours to 60 days and since 99% recovered rapidly, they were not counted as having police whereas before the disease they would have been. So it seemed as if the vaccine had eliminated all those cases.
In July 1958, they renamed non-paralytic poliomyelitis with meningeal signs to aseptic meningitis thus 'eliminating' non-paralytic polio.
Non-paralytic polio was not reported after 1958.
The vaccine shot induced polio in many people and this was counted in the stats.
FDR did not have polio. He had guillaine barre.
In India, there are 42 cases of real polio, and 61,000 that have been paralyzed from the shot.
